Depois do almoço, e da longa visita ao Museu dos Inválidos, seguimos em direção à Torre Eiffel. Não que ainda não a tivessemos visto, já que a sua pontinha dava um arzinho de graça, aqui e acolá.
Passando pelo Parque do Campo de Marte, apercebemo-nos do aglomerado de pessoas...é fácil perceber porquê! Uma das cidades mais visitadas do mundo, e um dos edifícios mais visitados do mundo... Lamentavelmente optámos por não fazer a subida...pobre de mim que odeio alturas!! ah,ah!
Foi construída no tempo recorde de 2 anos, para a Exposição Mundial de 1889. Não era suposto ter-se mantido de pé depois disso, mas após alguns anos de luta, foi salva para os quase 7 milhões de visitantes (por ano) que por lá passam. Em torno da Torre, e em direção aos Jardins do Trocadero, tem a oportunidade de mais uma vez, avistar o Sena e os bonitos barcos turísticos. Um merecido descanso nos Jardins e mais alguns kilómetros até chegar a casa.
Junto aos Jardins encontra o Palais de Chaillot, edifício imponente onde as escadarias atraem skaters, turistas e artistas. Um sítio especial para avistar o Sena e a Torre Eiffel! Dentro do edifício encontra 3 museus: Museu da Marinha, Museu do Homem e Museu de Quais Branly.
Junto aos Jardins encontra o Palais de Chaillot, edifício imponente onde as escadarias atraem skaters, turistas e artistas. Um sítio especial para avistar o Sena e a Torre Eiffel! Dentro do edifício encontra 3 museus: Museu da Marinha, Museu do Homem e Museu de Quais Branly.
Por fim seguimos para o Arco do Triunfo. Foi mandado construir por Napoleão como símbolo da sua superioridade militar. Ainda hoje é uma imagem de orgulho nacional, presente em cada celebração: Dia da Bastilha, Dia da Vitória e Dia da Lembrança. Do cimo do Arco poderá usufruir de uma vista panorâmica magnífica sobre a cidade.

After lunch and a long visit to the Museum of the Invalides, we head for the Eiffel Tower.
Through the Park Field of Mars, we realized the cluster of people ... it's easy to see why! One of the most visited cities in the world, and one of the most visited buildings in the world ... Unfortunately we opted not to do the ascent ... poor me.. I hate heights!
It was built in the the record time of two years, for the World Exhibition in 1889. It was not supposed to have remained standing after that, but after a few years of struggle, was saved for the nearly 7 million visitors (per year) who pass by.
