KING'S SQUARE AND THE HISTORY MUSEUM OF BARCELONA
Despite looking very modern, Barcelona has a past and a very old origin, prior to the Romans. The first colonists settled in Montejuic, but the foundations of the city were built on Roman influences. At that time the city was called Barcino. The remains of this civilization are visible under the Plaza del Rei and more specifically in the Museum of City's History. Here you can see the remains of an old city, tiled floors, ruins, statues and oil presses or the banquet hall where Christopher Columbus was received after his return in the new world. You can also watch a movie that shows the evolution of the city from the Roman era to the present day.
