PARIS-PLACE DE LA CONCORDE E PONTE ALEXANDRE III (DIA #2)

Segundo dia: fomos gulosos e quisemos ir logo aquela cereja vermelhinha que fica em cima do bolo! O itinerário escolhido é longo e tem tanto que ver que convém começar bem cedo. Saímos na estação de metro Concorde. A estação sai mesmo juto ao Grand Palais, e prepare-se porque tem 360º de coisas para ver.

Começámos pela Place Concorde. Para os interessados em História francesa, é um local icónico. Esta praça serviu de palco a um dos episódios mais célebres: a decapitação de Maria Antonieta (para quem ficou com curiosidade, o filme Marie Antoinette retrata tudo direitinho)! A praça data do século XVIII, e foi construída para acomodar a estátua do rei Luís XV. Outrora, também já se chamou Praça da Revolução, tendo sido mais tarde renomeada. No centro da praça, está um obelisco de 3000 anos!

Na base do obelisco estão as imagens que representam o transporte e instalação do mesmo! Deste ponto, poderá apreciar a toda a volta a beleza dos edifícios circundantes, embora estejamos junto a ruas com imenso trânsito. Existem alguns "Homens Estátua" que embelazam a praça com as suas habilidades. Junto ao obelisco, situa-se a Fonte da Praça, com as suas belas estátuas douradas e repuxos artísticos de água.

Deste ponto, consegue vislumbra-se a Torre Eiffel assim como os Invalides, para onde fomos de seguida. Vá até à Ponte Alexandre III onde estão representadas 4 estátuas de Pégaso em bronze dourado. É um verdadeiro hino à ostentação, por isso demore-se a apreciar os belos detalhes, assim como as bonitas vistas sobre o Sena. Só nesta zona, passará alguma parte da manhã...principalmente se gostar de fotografia! Seguimos de seguida para os Inválidos, mas isso fica só para o próximo post...prometo!

Paris-Place de La Concorde and Bridge of Alexandre III (day #3)

Second day: we were greedy and wanted to go just right to that little red cherry that sits on top of the cake! The route chosen is long and has so much to see, so you may want to start early. Our exit was on the metro station called Concorde. Get ready because you have 360 degrees of things to see!
We started at Place Concorde. For those interested in French History, this is an iconic spot. This square played host to one of the most famous episodes: the beheading of Marie Antoinette. The square dates from the eighteenth century and was built to accommodate the statue of King Louis XV . Formerly, also called Revolution Square, being renamed later. Right in the center of the square there´s an obelisk with 3000 years!

At the base of the obelisk are the images representing the transporting and installing! From this point, you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding buildings, although we are next to streets with immense traffic. There are some "Men Statue" that grace the plaza with their skills. Along the obelisk, lies the Fountain of Square, with it's beautiful golden statues and artistic water jets.

Get a glimpse over the Eiffel Tower, as well as the Invalides, where we went next. Go to the Bridge Alexandre III which have represented 4 Pegasus statues in gilded bronze. It is a true hymn to ostentation, therefore linger to enjoy the perfect details, as well as the beautiful views of the Seine.

Only in this area, you´ll spend a couple of hours ... especially if you love photography! Then we followed for The Invalids, but this is only for the next post ... promise!
