Notre Damme é um local de eleição numa viagem a Paris. O nome ficou conhecido pelos desenhos animados com o famoso corcunda, mas é a magnificiência do Monumento a verdadeira atração.
Os intrincados pormenores a fachada são lindíssimos. A construção demorou 182 anos! A catedral tem sofrido no entanto os efeitos da poluição, política, correntes estéticas e religiosas. Os vitrais passaram de coloridos a transparentes, depois a coloridos outra vez e até estátutas foram removidas. Não obstante todas essas mudanças, o interior manteve sempre a sua opulência. Na sacristia, encontra uma exposição com manuscritos antigos, relíquias e supostamente a verdadeira Coroa de Espinhos (embora impossível de ver - no globo dourado na foto inferior direita). Os vitrais merecem também alguma atenção e o seu orgão, sendo este um dos maiores de toda a Europa.
Subindo às torres (422 degraus), poderá ter um vislubre sobre a cidade.
A entrada na Catedral é grátis, o tesouro custou 3€ e a torre e cripta têm um custo superior, embora tivessemos optado por não visitar.
Paris - Notre Damme (day #3)
Notre Damme is a place of choice on a trip to Paris. The name was known by the cartoon with the famous hunchback, but the magnificence of the monument is the real attraction.
In the sacristy, there's an exhibition of ancient manuscripts, relics and supposedly the true Crown of Thorns (though impossible to see in the Golden Globe, the photo below right). The windows also deserve some attention and it's organ, which is one of the largest in all of Europe.
Climbing the towers (422 steps), you can have a great view over the city.
The entrance to in the Cathedral is free, the treasure cost 3€ and the tower and crypt have a higher cost, although we didn't visit it.
